This method is used to detect internal flaws in different materials. This method of testing involves the use of either of the two electromagnetic radiation , that is , X-rays or gamma rays.

Ultrasonic Testing is another type of non-destructive testing where ultrasonic waves with frequencies usually above 0.5MHz upto 25 MHz (Inaudible to humans) travel through the material and its reflection determines if there is a flaw or not in the material.

This testing method is also called liquid penetrant and is used to locate surface-defects like hairline cracks, surface porosity or leaks using a liquid/dye penetrant in non-porous materials.

 

It is an inspection in the manufacturing process, and refers to the inspection performed in the final stage of manufacturing process. In this test, whether the complete goods meet the requirements as a product or not is determined in order to prevent the loss in customer confidence, various problems, and damages in advance. On top of that, the manufacturing process includes Acceptance Inspection and Inspection between Processes, both of which are performed for such constituent items as purchased raw materials, processed parts, and assemblies, and they are not done for complete goods. In the Final Inspection, the whole of the product including the requests from customers is inspected.

Magnetic particle Inspection (MPI) is a non-destructive testing (NDT) process for detecting surface and shallow subsurface discontinuities in ferromagnetic materials such as iron, nickel, cobalt, and some of their alloys. The process puts a magnetic field into the part.

Welds may be tested using NDT techniques such as industrial radiography or industrial CT scanning using X-rays or gamma rays, ultrasonic testing, liquid penetrant testing, magnetic particle inspection or via eddy current.
